Keyboard Accessories:

Braided/Coiled Cable:

Keyboards that have detachable cords usually USB-C, can be upgraded to a coiled like cable, this is purely for aesthetics. Many custom builds are  seen with these attached as they can match the color scheme and provide extra weight for the cord to stay in place.

Arm Rests:

Unless offered by the stock company, most keyboards lack an arm rest of some sort. If the keyboard model supports it, some rests can be attached directly. however, most will not have latches and will be stand alone. These rests often are made from woods or foam to match the aesthetics or to offer maximum comfort.

Other Helpful Tools:

When going to the custom route for a keyboard its important to know what tools you will need to complete your project, here are some of the most common ones:
  • Key cap puller (used for removed keycaps, multiple at a time)
  • Tweezers (helps remove switches and other small components in deconstruction)
  • Work mats (anti-static, makes reconstruction easier)
  • Small screwdriver set (helps with deconstruction, and stab replacement)
